The End of the Analog Broadcasting Era: June 12 at 12:01PM
KUAC's analog signal shut off at 12:01 p.m. Friday, June 12
There is a trouble-shooting guide at www.alaskaone.org including a list of FAQs
Additional information can be found at www.dtvanswers.com or www.dtvacrossamerica.com
A national call center has been set up to answer questions about the transition or how to upgrade: call 1-888-CALL-FCC (1-888-225-5322)
If you are still unable to receive a digital signal after all of these steps, don't lose hope, KUAC is taking other measures to improve the current digital signal (rechannelization project)
The project will include replacing both of our transmitters, the analog 9 and the digital 24, with a higher powered digital Channel 9 transmitter.
A new antenna will be installed in an effort to replicate the existing analog Channel 9 coverage area.
The anticipated completion date for this project in mid-September.
Additional concerns about the federally mandated digital conversion can be directed to the Alaska Congressional Delegation by calling:
Senator Begich's office at 1-907-271-5915 in Anchorage or (907) 456-0261 in Fairbanks

AlaskaOne Digital Over-the-Air Rechannelization
Changes to AlaskaOne channels have been made. Please note the revised digital channels:
9.1 = AlaskaOne HD
9.2 = AlaskaOne World
9.3 = AlaskaOne Create
These changes should only affect over-the-air viewers. You may need to re-scan your television or converter box to get the new line-up. If your pay service provider does not provide these channels, call them to request all three AlaskaOne channels.
If you have your remote control programmed to use AlaskaOne 9.2 as your main AlaskaOne channel, you'll need to check the remote to be sure you are accessing 9.1, instead of the old duplicate, 9.2.
As we approach the digital deadline of June 12, and after hooking up a converter box to your TV set, or installing a new digital television, you'll need to scan (also known as "auto-tune") for new channels to ensure you receive all of the digital stations broadcasting in your area. While some boxes do this automatically, you may need to select "scan" manually.
Keep your owner's manual! You may want to consider "re-scanning" on a periodic basis to get all of the digital channels available. Some digital stations are already on-air and may be moving to different channel numbers at the end of DTV transition. It's a good idea to re-scan again after June 12, 2009 to ensure that you receive all of the digital stations broadcasting in your area.
